Prince William Appears on Cover of Gay Magazine

Prince William is lending his voice-and face-to the LGBT community. The 33-year-old posed for the United Kingdom’s Attitude magazine, marking the first time a royal had ever posed for the cover of a gay publication.
In between moments of smiling for the camera, the Duke of Cambridge sat down with nine members of the LGBT community who have faced bullying for their sexual orientation and gender identity at school, online and in everyday life. The topic was of interest to William who, with his wife Kate Middleton, has been focusing on improving mental health and social acceptance by partnering with programs offering services in schools and neighborhoods.
During his sit-down with the group, William wanted to discuss how they have suffered mentally from years of abuse and how they think it can be prevented in the future.
“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives,” he told the mag. “The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now. Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it."
Check out the video to hear what advice William had to offer, and tune in to The Insider With Yahoo on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.
