EDO STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR EXCAPES ASSASSINATION ATTACK,LEAVING 5 CRITICALLY INJURED

News reports have revealed that an assassination attack on the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu, have left five critically injured.

The incident reportedly took place yesterday, May 1, 2016, as gunmen are reported to have opened fire on the deputy Governor and others at the All Progressive Congress (APC) secretariat in Auchi.
The Nation reports that the attack had occurred shortly after Governor Adams Oshiomhole and Dr Odubu had left a party organised by the representative of the Estako Central Constituency in the House of Assembly, Damian Lawani.
The unidentified gun men are reported to have invaded the secretariat, opening fire on the deputy governor and others at the gathering.
Five persons have been reported to be critically injured, including the Guard Commander of the Deputy Governor's Police team who had been protecting his charge during the invasion.
